Ian has extensive experience of complex programme management, event management, carbon management and sustainability. Since joining the UK Government, he has delivered across a range of high profile major events including COP26, G7 Summit, Platinum Jubilee, Commonwealth Games, Queen Elizabeth’s State Funeral and the King's Coronation. Ian was Head of Sustainability for COP26, the largest international summit ever hosted in the UK at time of overcoming challenges of COVID-19. His ambitious approach to event sustainability and carbon management across COP26 forged genuinely collaborative delivery with suppliers, partners and communities, identifying a wide range of exciting opportunities against the stretching Sustainability Principles set to exceed the UNFCCC requirements and successfully achieve ISO20121 Certification and PAS 2060 Carbon Neutrality. Ian continues to drive the positive learnings as a priority for Major Event delivery going forwards.
