Harnessing the power of events to create more Regenerative, Inclusive, and Circular Cities

24 Jul 2024
CN Sustainability Summit 2024
Panel Session

In an era where the imperative for cities to transition towards sustainability is stronger than ever, the Global Destination Sustainability (GDS) Index stands as a beacon guiding tourism towards a greener, more inclusive, and resilient future. In this conversation we will explore the transformative potential of the GDS-Index in driving the visitor economy to embrace net zero, inclusivity, community engagement, and circularity.

Joined by representatives from four pioneering cities, we will share real-world experiences of how destinations are working to not only mitigate environmental impacts but also to foster economic regeneration and social cohesion.

Through a lens of innovation and collaboration, we will delve into strategies for reducing carbon footprints, enhancing accessibility for all, engaging communities in decision-making processes, and promoting circular economies to minimise waste and stimulate sustainable local industries.
