Martin Richardson, Founder & Managing Director, Ten Thousand Hours

Martin Richardson, Founder & Managing Director, Ten Thousand Hours

I’m what people might call a late developer.

When I left college I didn’t know what I wanted to do.

I fell into the world of events by chance.

Over 20 years, I listened and I learned … and I learned a lot. I became bloody good at leading and producing amazing events and teams.

But I was overlooked for promotions because I was unconventional in my approach.

So I decided to promote myself to Managing Director and build a new agency that takes an unconventional approach to event production.

And it’s worked quite well.

Our agency is seen as a ‘top challenger’ in our industry, and our clients are seeing improved opportunities and growth as a result of our work.

Our ideas and concepts are focused on getting audiences talking to, or about, our clients.

What are you most excited to see in a submission?

Ambition, measured achievements, attitude, originality, opinion.

What pertinent industry issue do you want to see a positive change in over the next 10 years?
